Unashamed: how does Christ help us live a life that is unashamed?
Please read all information before registering your student.
Cost: $10 for the whole week!
What is student week?! Think of it as a student version of VBS with more outings and less decorations. 6 PM to 9 PM of July 10th-14th we will be in the word together looking at how Christ helps us live a life that is unashamed. There will be opportunities for worship and discussion groups during our time together, but after we will engage in competition and fellowship with one another. Some of the events are on site while others are off-site. A small description of each evening location and event is listed below. For some of these events, all the family is invited to participate, and that will be included in the description below.
Monday 6-9 PM
Monday night is going to be a kickoff night where we begin at the student house. There we will spend some time in God’s word, studying how Christ wants to free us from the shame we carry because of sin. Afterwards, we will go on an “Amazing Race” style scavenger hunt through Athens. Family is welcome to join during the lesson and worship time. We will begin at 6 and pickup will be at the student house. Dinner is not provided.
Tuesday 6-9 PM
Tuesday night we will start at Athens regional Park at 6 on the soccer field, so bring your lawn chair or a blanket to sit on. After having worship, sometime in the word, and discussion groups, we will be playing a parent vs. student game of kickball! We would love for parents to be a part of this night. The whole family is invited, but only students in 6th-12th and their parents will be able to play in the game. Dinner is not provided, however concessions at the park may be open.
Wednesday 6-9 PM
Wednesday we will have our normal midweek opportunities available for the whole family at Clearwater – kids ministry, women’s bible study, and men’s bible study. After the students have their time in worship, in the word, and in discussion, we will have slip-and-slide kickball. This was so much fun to play this past Wednesday (June 28th), so we are going to play again. To enjoy our time together, we will be playing till around 8:45; Come cheer on your student after you get out of your midweek life group! Hot dogs will be provided for dinner this night during our time in the student house.
Thursday 6-9 PM
Thursday night we will be meeting at Chuck Dakes (1175 SR-305 TN 37303). There we will have our message, worship, and discussion groups, and afterwards we will spend the evening in his pool and playing yard games. The whole family is invited to attend. Our request is that you send your student with a snack or drink to share with everyone else.
Friday
Friday is special because we will be ending our week by going to the Chattanooga Lookouts game. The game starts at 7:15 pm so our goal is to be parked by 6:30 pm. For this event, the whole family is invited; when you register your student, the cost of $10 dollars covers the ticket. That being said, if you and your family want to come to the game, you will need to register and pay for the tickets that you need. Also, you will need to mark whether your student will need a ride from church, where we will leave at 5:30 in the evening OR you will need to mark that your student will be riding with your family to the game. Parking near the stadium is 190 riverfront pkwy, and they charge $4 dollars for three hours. We will return once the game is finished; if your student is car-pooling to the game, I will send a text to you as we are returning from the game. Dinner is through the ballpark concessions, and the cost is on your student.
