Discipleship/Student Pastor Jacob Stockner

Meet Jacob, his wife Kathy, son Judah, daughter Abigail, and one that will soon be here Micah.  Jacob and Kathy have been married since 2015 and serving the Lord together since.

Jacob served at Camp Living Stones as the assistant director for 4 years.  Camp Living Stones  is a christian adventure camp primarily serving students from grades 6th-12th.  From the time that Jacob felt a call to ministry students have been a huge part of that.  During his time at Camp. Living Stones Jacob completed his MDIV with a concentration in student ministry at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary.  Jacob’s time at grew his relationship with the Lord greatly and appreciation for working with the next generation and how vital student ministry is in their devolopment as disciples of Jesus Christ.

After Jacob’s time at Camp Living Stones God brought about he opportunity to serve as the head pastor of a church plant named Mountainside Community Bible church.  God defiantly provided during this time and lead Jacob down a path of great growth and understanding of the church.   God moved him into this role and after 4 years of leading the church God has lead him back to student ministry at Clearwater Baptist Church but in a brand new capacity as the discipleship pastor.

Discipleship drives every aspect of Jacob’s ministry.  Every regenerate believer in Jesus Christ must understand themselves as a disciple of Jesus Christ.  A disciple increasingly places their life under the power and presence of king Jesus. Student ministry highlights discipleship because when a student confesses Jesus Christ as Lord they must spend time in discipleship or else they will not know how to obey all the commands that Jesus gave us.

Matthew 28:19-20 helps to define Jacob’s ministry "19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

Jacob is excited to serve with the church at Clearwater Baptist Church and see people at every stage of life become disciples of Jesus Christ that would then in turn make disciples.
